A Fresh Weekend

If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen a sequence of pretty pics from Kiawah’s finest Freshfields Village a few weeks ago for their VIP blogger weekend. It was kind of hard to show off how wonderful it was with a few snapshots, so I thought I’d elaborate a little further!

One of the first things that secured my RSVP to this weekend was the fact that we were to be hosted by the Andell Inn, the luxurious boutique hotel on Kiawah. When I walked in, I immediately never wanted to leave. The lobby is full of all gold everything, high ceilings, fur, antlers, and a stunning fireplace. We were even greeted with champagne, cookies from Grey Ghost Bakery (my fave!) waiting on our nightstands, and even a framed photo from our blogs. SO thoughtful! Oh, and did I mention that the headboards in the rooms are snakeskin? Yeah, that’s a thing.

After we got settled in, we were off to the Urban Nirvana for complimentary blowouts and make up touchups. I feel like I should note that the guy who did my blowout just did Gigi Hadid and Karlie Kloss’s hair for a show at NYFW. Am I famous, guys?

After meeting up with our lovely hosts for the weekend (and eating way too much from the cheese tray), we began our walk through Freshfields. The first stop was The Resort Shop, which was basically a store full of everything I wanted – including macarons and champagne. From there, it was Lilly Pulitzer, where we got the sweetest little elephant pouches (currently using mine for makeup!), then J. McLaughlin to stock up on our classics. Then, don’t judge, Tara and I may or may not have run back to the hotel for a quick wardrobe change – hey, we didn’t have time to change after we checked in!

Next it was Roberta Roller Rabbit, which I was super excited about since I had never been. I was like a kid in a candy store looking through all of the gorgeous handmade prints, colorful jewelry, and fun fringe bags. After that came Holly & Brooks to get our shoe game strong. The ladies there were so sweet and accommodating! (And gave me more cheese – how to win my heart in one easy step.)

The last stop was Vincent’s Drugstore & Soda Fountain, which made me feel like I stepped into a time machine and went back to the cutest 50s diner. Like true bloggers, we had to photograph every single thing before we ate it, which made for very melty (yet delicious) root beer floats and sundaes. After that we went back to the hotel, had a drink at the hotel bar, then went to sleep in the Andell Inn’s incredible king-size beds for the night. The next morning we woke up to a beautiful presentation of breakfast foods (which Tara and I promptly brought up to her room to eat in bed), and then it was back to Charleston! Thank you SO much to Freshfields Village for hosting all of us crazy gals, The Andell Inn for the best/prettiest night’s sleep, and all the fabulous shops for such a fun day. I can’t wait to come back!
